This book is a collection of intellectual biographies of ten prominent Ukrainian historians and thinkers of the second half of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries who prepared the ideological foundations for Ukrainian country’s Independence and developed national statehood during the Russian occupation of Ukraine – from the Russian Empire to the USSR.
The author describes the historiosophical contribution to Ukrainian socio-political thought of Mykhailo Hrushevsky, Olgerd Bochkovsky, Viacheslav Lypynsky, Volodymyr Antonovych, Oleksandr Konysky, Yevhen Chykalenko, Serhiy Yefremov, Andriy Zhuk, Serhiy Dashkevych, and Serhiy Bilokin.
