This book tells the story of the life and public service of Pavlo Ivanovych Chyzhevskyi (1860–1925) — a Ukrainian from the Poltava region who worked tirelessly to promote Ukraine and the Ukrainian nation on the world stage. He was a member of the First State Duma of the Russian Empire and the Ukrainian Central Rada, and served as head of the Extraordinary Trade Mission of the Ukrainian People’s Republic (UNR) to Switzerland, France, and Italy. Chyzhevskyi was also the author of several political essays on Ukrainian state-building and the inventor of a "wind turbine," patented in Switzerland. A father of four sons, three of whom defended Ukraine against the Russian-Bolshevik invasion as soldiers of the UNR Army.
