Semen Pidhainyi (1907–1965) was a prominent publicist, historian, and socio-political figure of the Ukrainian diaspora, a former prisoner of the Solovki labor camps, a close associate of Ivan Bahrianyi, and one of the founders of the Ukrainian Revolutionary Democratic Party (URDP). His work stands as a testimony to the struggle against the genocide of the Ukrainian people and a powerful exposure of totalitarian crimes.

This volume includes his works The Ukrainian Intelligentsia at Solovki and The Unshot (in two parts). Written with sincerity and literary force, these texts reveal the criminal policies of the Kremlin regime, which, under the guise of building a “communist paradise,” turned the lives of many nations into a true hell. The book contains the names of real people who perished under totalitarian repression, restoring their memory from oblivion.
