This new study examines the agreements reached in 1654 during the incorporation of the Ukrainian Hetmanate and the Muscovite state. The author focuses on the substance of these arrangements, the ways in which they were interpreted by both parties, and the concrete political and administrative steps taken during the first four years after the Pereiaslav Council to implement them in practice.
