This documentary collection includes materials reflecting the Soviet deportation policy in the Crimean Peninsula during World War II and the postwar period. The volume examines the economic and cultural aspects of Crimea’s incorporation into the Ukrainian SSR, documents the Crimean Tatar struggle in the 1950s–1980s to return to their historical homeland, and highlights the issues of repatriation, adaptation, and integration of Crimean Tatars into Ukraine’s sociocultural and political space.

The collection is based on archival documents from the Central State Archive of Public Organizations of Ukraine, the Central State Archive of Supreme Bodies of Power and Government of Ukraine, the Sectoral State Archive of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Sectoral State Archive of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and the State Archive of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The publication contains 309 documents, 230 of which are published for the first time. The book will be of interest to historians, ethnologists, political scientists, educators, and all readers interested in the history of Ukraine and Crimea.
